Big Belly Bites Smoked Chex™ Mix


This mix is a must try snack that is sure to have everyone raving! Make this to take to pitch-ins, holiday parties, or just because you love party mix. What's great about this recipe is you can make the mix itself however you like, adding different ingredients to fit your taste buds. We recommend balancing 1 cup of mix per tablespoon of butter.


Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Corn Chex™ Cereal

  • 2 Cups Rice Chex™ Cereal

  • 1 Cup Wheat Chex™ Cereal

  • 2 Cups Cheez-It® Crackers

  • 1 Cup of Bite-Size Bagel Chips or Rye Chips

  • 8 Tablespoons of Butter

  • 2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire (W) Sauce

  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Minced Garlic

  • 3-4 Tablespoons of your favorite Big Belly Rub (our favorite is Pork & Poultry)

Process:

  • Preheat smoker between 200°- 225°F using your favorite wood or pellets. You may also choose to use the oven at 250°F.

  • Combine cereal, crackers, bagel/rye chips, and any other ingredients you added to the mix.

  • Melt butter with garlic, W sauce, and 1 tablespoon of Big Belly Rub.

  • Mix butter with dry ingredients as evenly as possible, then add remaining Big Belly Rub and stir again.

  • Smoke the mix for 1-4 hours, depending on how smoky you want it to be, stirring every 15-20 minutes. When using an oven, it should only take about 1 hour, still stirring every 15 minutes.

  • Place paper towels on a large flat surface to thin out the mix to cool for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

  • ENJOY!!

  • Store in an airtight container to allow for smoke flavor to absorb even more.
